I fell out of my seat
and hit the floor. A puddle of drool came out of my mouth before I got
up. I wiped my mouth. I looked out the window. The train was still
moving, as it was moving fast along the tracks. The beach and the ocean
seemed so clear and pure, but then a boat ruined it, and seagulls came
out of nowhere and filled the cloudless sky. My throat felt dry.
I walked about the train
and looked at other people. A woman was reading a book with a torn
cover. A mother was cradling her child. A couple was staring out the
window, and many others were sleeping quietly. A young child ran past me
and towards the area where no one was sitting, the place where I was
sitting just awhile ago. She took my seat and stared out into the
window. She flew towards the seat in front of her and it looked like her
neck snapped as I went further away.
I stopped as someone
pulled my arm. The grip was lost and I felt weightless as I was slammed
into a corner. There was nothing to hold onto. Outside the window, I
saw the train tracks, and the other part of the train. And then bodies
fell towards the ceiling. It felt like an earthquake. I covered my head
and closed my eyes and naturally asked a question.
